Agricultural Input Supply
The Ambo Farmers Cooperative Union provides essential agricultural inputs to its member cooperatives and farmers to improve agricultural productivity and food security in West Shewa Zone. Through an organized cooperative distribution system, the Union ensures that agricultural inputs reach farmers on time and at fair prices.
The Union supplies different types of agricultural inputs that are necessary for crop production and farm management. These include:
- Chemical Fertilizers: Urea, DAP, NPS, and NPSB fertilizers to improve soil fertility and crop productivity.
- Improved Crop Seeds: Wheat, teff, maize, barley, and other improved varieties supplied to farmers through cooperatives.
- Crop Protection Chemicals: Herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides used to control weeds, pests, and crop diseases.
- Agricultural Tools and Equipment: Knapsack sprayers and other small farm tools used for crop production and protection.
- Animal Feed Seeds: Forage seeds such as alfalfa, Sudan grass, vetch, and other improved forage varieties to support livestock production.
By supplying these inputs through cooperative structures, the Union helps farmers access quality inputs in a reliable and transparent manner. The Union also works closely with cooperatives and agricultural experts to promote proper use of inputs, increase crop yields, and strengthen sustainable agricultural development in the region.
Through this service, the Union continues to support member cooperatives and farmers in improving productivity, enhancing livelihoods, and strengthening the agricultural economy of West Shewa.
